restoring the balance
Balance of mind and body is often overlooked in the quest for optimum health. With fad diets promising quick fixes it’s easy to get caught up in the hype, only to find our bodies aren't built to endure extreme diet plans. Often the result is short-lived with quick weight-regain, low self-esteem and a risk of further health problems.
Your unique Ayurvedic constitution can be unbalanced by certain foods. For many, the concept of food combining – the idea that some foods digest well together while others do not – is somewhat foreign. But according to Ayurveda, it is an essential part of understanding how to eat properly. Careful food combining can dramatically improve the quality of digestion, support the body in receiving a deeper level of nourishment, and positively impact overall health.
No starvation or peculiar drinks required; just a variety of foods and herbs that fit your unique mind/body type - a blueprint guide that will keep you in balance.
"My Ayurvedic assessment was
to treat sciatica. Loretta identified my Dosha and created a plan encompassing nutrition and yoga.
After about 3 months my sciatica had vastly improved, sleeping habits are better and my overall health is great.
she’s been a godsend!"
Your personal consultation: What to expect
During an initial consultation you will be asked a series of questions to determine your constitution (Dosha) and discuss any ailments or inbalances you wish to address – which may be physical or mental. A tongue assessment will be carried out (which, in Ayurvedic teaching is a way of diagnosing and better understand personal Dosha imbalances).
From this, a full therapy plan is devised and tailored to your unique mind-body type. This tends to comprise five key ayurvedic therapies:
Combining all 5 therapies is recommended for best results, though you may wish to focus on just one approach.
- Initial consultation (60min) & Complimentary Follow-up Skype call (30min): £120
- Further consultation included in Loretta's Ayurvedic Wellness Package
As well as treatments and lifestyle adjustments, your tailored plan will include nutrition recommendations and resources to help you restore health and balance holistically through Ayurveda.
Loretta is able to recommend further therapies and treatments through a network of therapists and practitioners. Yoga in particular is recommended with Josephine McGrail, who creates bespoke 1-2-1 programmes for all abilities and holds classes at various studios in London (including TriYoga - just next door!).
A follow-up consult (via Skype if preferred) after 3-4 weeks will allow us to assess progress and make the necessary adjustments. Ayurveda is way of being that requires patience and changes can time to manifest. From here, further consultations will very much depend on your personal journey; appointments every 10-12 weeks are usually enough to ensure you stay aligned with your long-term goals.
